I like the backsplash tile as well. I think it is likely from the 70s as the kitchen cabinets look like they are from the 70s as well.
Glad to hear you are heading to Cianciana. If you have time, just outside Santo Stefano di Quisquina to the north of Cianciana there is the Quisquina Bosco in which there is a hermitage/museum and the cave that Santa Rosalia lived in for much of her life before she went to Palermo. It is a beautiful spot and the museum is fascinating!Diane Cacciatohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04167113109043798592noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586552059708536553.post-49877529794930264792013-01-11T01:12:52.861-08:002013-01-11T01:12:52.861-08:00I love the terrace off the kitchen, like having a w...I love the terrace off the kitchen, like having a whole other room. You will use it 90%of the time. love your tile on the backsplash. I agree with the dark stain .It will make the backsplash design stand out.
I am heading to Cianciana and surrounding area 2nd week of May with a visiting friend-nice little road trip. linda chartiernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586552059708536553.post-53477708390318817702013-01-10T18:01:50.101-08:002013-01-10T18:01:50.101-08:00I agree. I am sure you will spend many days sitting there having lunches and drinks.
The darker stain on the wood stands out more and probably will show less any spillages and stains...
